The Vibe
There is something to the feeling of California: the melting pot of cultures that makes us who we are, the diverse landscapes from mountains to redwoods to beaches, the endless dreaming that created Hollywood and Silicon Valley, the way the golden light reflects off the trees, and the food that can only come from a place with so many cultural perspectives and such fresh produce. For Overshine, this is what inspires and drives us; it is the makeup of who we are.

This is a holistic approach in which we see, value, and honor the fact that the resilience of our future comes from celebrating diversity. This means opening our doors and arms to everyone, farming for the health of our soil and diverse landscapes, making wines that are honest and joyful, and embracing the shine that comes from everyone and everything connected to this beautiful place we call home.
The Beginning
Better Together
Overshine was founded by David Drummond with Sam Bilbro and Thomas DeBiase by his side. David’s California roots and love for wine, combined with his brother’s multiple years of playing at the Healdsburg Jazz Fest brought David to Healdsburg. Upon meeting Sam and Thomas, David tasted wines that inspired his curiosity for what wines could be like here—where the music was turned up, and the feeling was joyous and welcoming. He saw a future for wine that could do and be more. The friendship was instant and together they began to dream up what is now Overshine.

David Drummond
Proprietor
Proprietor, David Drummond, has a lifelong love affair with California—from his youth in Monterey to his years in the Santa Clara Valley, and to his current home in the rolling hills of Sonoma County. California’s diversity in people and landscape has long inspired him. This inspiration melded with the state’s unique entrepreneurial spirit forms the core of Overshine. Furthermore, our love of sharing music and wine is a direct reflection of David himself.
Sam Bilbro
Winemaker and Managing Partner
Winemaker and Managing Partner, Sam Bilbro, is a fourth generation Sonoma County vintner. Growing up in vineyards and a rustic winery, California wine is in his bones. For both viticulture and winemaking, he believes that health is inherent in diverse life in soils, diverse wine styles, and diverse populations all having access to working in and enjoying Californian wine. For Sam, wine is one of those rare things that can connect people and bring joy to everyday life.
Thomas DeBiase
Director of Operations
Director of Operations, Thomas DeBiase, grew up in New Jersey where his Italian-American roots instilled a love for food and wine in him. A childhood spent frequenting New York City gave light to the power of culture, food, music, and people coming together. California pulled him across the country soon after college to dive deeper into both wine and food, and he has made it a mission to bring that pluralism from childhood to the wine industry.
